5 Things That You May Not Know As A Taxi Rider

We all hire taxis sometime or another to reach a destination. But, most of us don't know much about it, except sitting in the hired taxis, reaching their destinations, and paying the drivers for their services.

In this blog, we are going to share five things regarding a taxi ride, of which most of the customers are unaware, and may be you also.

#1. Taxi Drivers Call Customers PAX

PAX is an international abbreviation of 'persons approximately'. It is generally used for air passengers, but it has become popular a term for taxi riders as well. In many places, taxi drivers call their passengers PAX.

#2. You Should Be at the Pick-Up Point on Time.

You should not make the taxi driver wait, and get in the taxi immediately as it reaches you, because your taxi driver may start the meter at the moment they arrive to pick you up. If, for any reason, you get in a few minutes late, do check the meter before you enter the taxi. However, if you have caused much delay, then you can talk to the taxi driver in this regard and compensate them a bit.

#3. Your Taxi Driver Cannot Begin Conversation with You.

This is an unwritten code of conduct for drivers; however, some taxi companies instruct their drivers in this regard as well, that the drivers should not initiate a conversation with you. They engage in conversation only if you are interested, and you initiate it. They don't breach your privacy, and concentrate their attention on the road.

#4. Your Ratings Decide the Future of Drivers

If you book a taxi from a taxi service provider, the taxi service company may ask you for your rating for the driver after they drop you at your destination. Show a little generosity towards the driver and don't give a negative rating for small things. Your ratings decide the driver's future. By all means, if there were major negative issues, be honest about the problems, but consider the consequences and resist risking somebody's job for small reasons.

#5. Your Drivers May Rate You as a Passenger as Well

If your taxi service provider asks you for your reviews regarding the driver, the company may ask the driver to rate you as a customer as well, for your future services. Respect the driver as they are mostly doing their job as well as they can.
